446 | An earthquake of 8.0 magnitude struck Wenchuan (Sichuan, China) on May 12. It was the worst natural disaster over the last decades.

More than 42,000 people lost their lives in the earthquake and more than 275,000 people were wounded.

In this province is Stenden preparing the launch of a site.

Our Stenden students in Leeuwarden took the initiative for a fundraising campaign.

Stenden is very proud of this impressive initiative!

Our Executive Board and I as director of the School of Graduate Studies support it strongly.

We think of all the people and families in the earthquake region and wish them all the best in these very sad and hard times.
