127 | After finishing his secondary school in his home town of Jiamusi, in Heilongjiang province, China, Jialin Qu went to Harbin, the capital of the province, to study automation at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT). »It’s like MIT – the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, but only with an ›H‹,« laughed Jialin. »Our institution made robots and the institutional team even won Robot Soccer World Cup a couple of times. But I did not like the studies because it was too technical and I wanted to study something, where I could work more with people and not machines alone.«

That is why, after only two years at HIT, Jialin took an opportunity and travelled half of the world to follow a four-year bachelor course in International Business Management at Avans Hogeschool in Breda, The Netherlands, which he completed in July 2006.
And now, 8 months and almost 230 km later, Jialin is a part-time master student at CHN, which he himself contributes to a lucky chance and the people he met at the school.
