Die Nachricht

»We are very pleased to announce the intention to enter a merger with Drenthe University (Hogeschool Drenthe). Drenthe University of Professional Education is located in the northern part of the Netherlands and like CHN, internationally active.

University Drenthe is subdivided into 3 faculties: Education, Management & Business and Technology.

This portfolio combined with the portfolio of CHN (Education, Social Care and Service Management) results in a very promising combination. Furthermore, both CHN and HD have an equally ambitious agenda with respect to the development of education, recognise that education is a matter of personal development and awareness and are willing to create a true cosmopolite University.

Robert Veenstra (presently Chairman Executive Board CHN) will be appointed Chairman of the Executive Board of the new to be formed organisation. Mr. Cees Bijl (presently chairman of the Board of Governors HD) will be the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the new to be formed organisation.

During the following months parties will draft a merger contract that will be presented to internal stakeholders like the Board of Governors and Works Council. We expect this process to be finalised by January 1st 2008.

We will keep you informed on the process.

If you would like to have more detailed information on Drenthe University,
I gladly refer to the website www.hsdrenthe.nl.

Kind regards,

Robert Veenstra
Chairman EB CHN«

Glückwunsch allen Beteiligten! Und für den Aufbau der Universität Friesland bedeutet das eine noch stärkere Basis.
