332 | Tonight at 18 o’clock exactly, Andreas Beusker and Rob Flohr could welcome our first class of 25 students who will follow our brand-new »Honours« programme at CHN University Leeuwarden.

This additional study programme at CHN university provides the participants with a solid basis for successfully doing a master course in one of the social sciences, including Economics and Business Studies, while working on their Bachelor’s degree.

There are many good reasons to follow this programme at CHN, as the students told us about their motivations.

The main aspect is that our society is inextricably bound up with the growth and application of scientific knowledge in the various professional areas our students want to belong to in the near future.

This knowledge is acquired by doing research. That will be done not only at universities but in all kinds of institutions and companies. Research can be primarily directed either at scientific aims or at practical applications, but all research is subject to severe methodological criteria.

This is connected with the fact that scientific knowledge claims to be more objective, more certain and more reliable than other forms of knowledge. It is for that reason that Research Methodology, including an individual research assignment, is forming the heart of the CHN Honours programme.

More informations are available online.

This new programme started also with an introduction in detail to our new online learning community tool of the School of Graduate Studies.

I would like to wish for everybody of our first »Honours« class that these two years will be very salutary and successfully for you!
